About

Robby Sinclair is a musician, composer, and collaborator based in Paris, France.

Born in the United States, Robby began creating music at a very young age. He went on to study jazz performance and arranging at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning awards for both.  After graduating, he moved to New York City and was promptly selected to serve as a U.S. Jazz Ambassador through the Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts.  While living in New York, he established himself as a first call drummer for many different styles - rock, pop, jazz, improvisation, cabaret, dance, and many others.  During this time, Robby also founded the group Lazer Cake which featured his vocals, songwriting, and drumming - his music was featured in NBC’s “Parenthood”. After 3 EP’s, Robby relocated to Los Angeles and was asked to be the drummer for Chet Faker/Nick Murphy’s touring band.  This found him performing at some of the most world famous festivals and stages including the Sydney Opera House, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and Sziget Festival.  He has worked as both a composer and a session drummer for artists such as Nick Murphy (Chet Faker), Chris Baio (Vampire Weekend), Linda Perry, Natasha Bedingfield, Jon Natchez (The War on Drugs), Alina Baraz, Montaigne, Matt Sucich, Jack Milas, Andrew Keoghan, Chris Speed, Jess Cornelius, Miya Folick, and Ex-Poets.  Robby has extensive experience performing around the world and continues to record/compose music for albums, TV, films, video games, and sound installations.
